Prepper Inventory Software Helps Keep You Organized
BR>
You’re going to be setting aside a lot of stuff when you’re planning the provisions for your future. Even if you’re one of the most organized people in the world, it can be so easy to lose track when you’re dealing with that many supplies.
By preparing great quantities, you not only have food to keep track of, but you also have to keep track of other supplies like medicine, hygiene items, first aid, protection gear and animal needs.
You have to know where the documents you need are and where the maps for your evacuation are located. Any meeting places or future shelters should be documented, too. It’s not easy to keep track of all these items, but by using prepper inventory software, keeping track of everything won’t be a problem.
Not only does the software help you keep track of where things are, but it can you plan out the food storage by short term and long term. The software you can use for this will vary.
You can use database system software for home use and you can also use a home inventory program. There are some programs specifically made for preppers that are extremely handy.
You can also use a home inventory program that some cooperative extensions will give you free of charge, but not every state has this, so you’ll have to check. There are also free inventory software downloads online that you can use as well as apps you can download to mobile devices for a very low cost.
Whatever the software is that you use, you need to be sure that you have a page set up for each thing you need to keep track of. It should be broken down into specific categories with sub-categories.
For example, the category of food should be broken into sections for fruit, grains, meat, dairy, etc. You would want an inventory page in the software for all of the animals, both pets and any livestock.
Besides the food categories, you need software that will let you list auto, cleaning supplies, first aid, toiletries and more. Some preppers use a spreadsheet that they create themselves using Excel or another spreadsheet program – but most people like the ones that are already pre-filled with the categories.
There are preppers who have taken home asset software (that’s software that’s used in the event of a burglary, fire or other home crisis situation to keep track of valuables) and used that to create an inventory system that works for them.
Whatever you buy or download, the software should allow you to list what you have, how much of it you have, what you need, where it is located and the date that it was placed into storage.
Make sure that you print out your files and don’t just keep them online. Technology is never reliable on its own, and having a printed sheet each time you update your stores will help you maintain better control.
