Question by Berry Blue: I’m considering moving to the Los Angeles area, which area or surrounding city should I avoid?
I want to move down south and would love to live in Los Angeles or near it, although I know nothing about it besides the traffic is terrible. I would have to find a job and apartment before I even moved there, & I am a 23 year old female student, and hoping to spend between $ 500-800 on rent.. Or honestly the cheaper the better! But I know in these circumstances I cant be picky. Help? Any suggestions?

Dear Berry:
Avoid South Central, Compton, Watts Area!
Focus on fairly good areas like:
*Pasadena, Alhambra, Arcadia, *Glendale or *Burbank.
It’s somewhat affordable, but NOT for $ 500-$ 800,
unless you find a nice roomie from the rental boards
at some colleges.
Bev Hills, West Hollywood & Santa Monica have very
HIGH Rents, usually. But the area is very nice.
Good Luck on your move.
