Answer by PimpMyRide
Other than used and perhaps some “flea-market” brands, you’ll be unlikely to find a sub package for $ 200. A “really good” one will be even more.

Here’s an Alpine entry-level package for $ 330. You’ll need to add an 8 gauge amp wiring kit.

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_700MRPEB1/Alpine-500-watt-Dual-10-Bass-Package.html?tp=442

Here’s a Kenwood package that is under $ 200, but the amp is pretty low powered. The same package with 10″ subs is $ 10 cheaper. You’ll need an enclosure as well as an amp wiring kit for this one.

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113PW1200/Kenwood-Party-Pack.html?tp=442

If you are a first-time purchaser at Crutchfield you can get a $ 20 discount off a $ 200 order if you use a “friend referral code” such as mine, which is: p7sdj-hrx8q-9800g, plus free shipping.

I’ve heard the HP uses cheap PSUs and is very overpriced. Would you recommend Cyberpower over HP or Dell for a gamer?

Answer by basslovin
well to really answer this question the best you should have posted the brand names for all these amps. i only saw the brand on the first one. obviously though looking at the specs the bottom one will be the loudest cause it puts out 500 watts rms. but jl audio is a good brand. so the first amp will prob be pretty nice. if the 500 watt rms amp is a crappy amp brand then it might not even put out a true 500 watts. so it all depends on brands. if the bigger one though is a good brand go for it. some names of good brands are jl audio, kicker, rockford fosgate, jbl, or mtx any of those are names to look out for

Q&A: Build myself a gaming PC OR Buy HP 390t with $500 discount?

Find The Lowest Price HERE

Question by : Build myself a gaming PC OR Buy HP 390t with 0 discount?
Okay, I need help with deciding whether or not I should build a gaming PC or just buy it from HP with good $ 500 discount. Let me list different parts of my build vs HP build so all you people can help me on which one is better.

My build:

CPU: Intel Core i7 Extreme 980x, 3.33GHz (Six Core) 12000K
CPU Fan: Intel Socket 1366 CPU fan
Motherboard: ASUS Rampage III Extreme X58, DDR3, SLI & Cross Fire,SATA3, GB LAN, USB 3.0,iEEE
RAM: 12GB (3x4GB) PC3 10600 DDR3 1333 Triple Channel
Graphic Card: ATI Radeon HD 5970 2GB PCI Express 16x dual head DVI, HDMI
Hard Drive: 1000.0GB Western Digital Green SATA2 UDMA 300 32m cache
DVD: LG 22x DVD Recorder Dual Layer +R/RW -R/RW
Case: Antec Twelve Hundred Black Case, Full Tower, Side Window, front USB & iEEE
Power Supply: Antec TruePower Quattro 1000w Extra Quiet ATX Power Supply SLI & X-fire ready

This come out about $ 3400 with shipping fees and taxes after I use price check with Tigerdirect.com and Newegg.com

HP build:

CPU: Intel Core i7 Extreme 980x, 3.33GHz (Six Core) 12000K
CPU Fan: Intel Socket 1366 CPU fan
Motherboard: Pegatron IPMTB-TK
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01901210&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us%E2%8C%A9=en&product=4#N825
RAM: 24GB DDR3-1066MHz SDRAM [6 DIMMs]
Graphic Card: 1.8GB NVIDIA Geforce GTX 260 [2 DVI, HDMI and VGA adapters]
Hard Drive: FREE UPGRADE! 1.5TB 7200 rpm SATA 3Gb/s hard drive from 1TB
DVD: Blu-ray player & Lightscribe SuperMulti DVD burner
Network card: Wireless-N LAN card
Media Card: 15-in-1 memory card reader, 1 USB, 1394, audio
Case: HP case with dimension of 16.85″(L) x 7.05″(W) x 15.79″(H)
Power Supply: 460 watts
OP: Genuine Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

This comes out around $ 3100 after taxes (free shipping). $ 2,902.99 before taxes (initial price $ 3,402.99 before $ 500 discount)

As you can see HP build is cheaper than mine even though I have concerns in a few areas. First of all, their Power Supply is only at 460 watts so if I want to upgrade something in future, it will cost me more with building a new Power Supply. I don’t know much about their motherboard so if someone knows about it, please help me explain. Another thing about is I can’t get much information about their 1.8GB NVIDIA Geforce GTX 260. I know you can only buy 896 MB GTX 260 outside. I talked with HP live chat agent and he said 1.8GB GTX 260 is only made exclusively for HP 390t and you can’t buy it outside. Well, beside these few points, I like HP build.

I think my build has better motherboard, Graphic card, and power supply. It’s more expensive. HP build has better RAM, more hard drive, better media card readers, and cheaper than my build. So which one should I go with? Thanks in advance for help.

Answer by William V
I’ve been building my own systems for years and just constructed a i7 980x system last month. Mine cost about what the HP system did ’cause I waited for the loss-leaders at Frys and jumped when the processor when on sale ($ 725 or so). That said, unless you’re used to working on and maintaining your own systems, I would get the HP. That’s because they will support it. HOWEVER, if you call HP support and they’re in India or Whoknowswhereistan you might find it faster/easier to take on the support role yourself instead of dealing with folks that don’t seem to care. I say that after having given up on HP printers for just that reason–they fought me every inch of the way to get simple warranty work done. If you’re happy with HP support, go for it. Again, it’s been years since I tried to get help from HP so they might have moved support back in-country.
As to the power supply, some HP systems use proprietary power supplies, so simply swapping theirs out for a reasonable sized supply (IMHO 750Watts would be minimum for that rig) would be harder.
