Question by kkcusce: I need to go into nursing but I got my level in Psych what should I do?
I am close to graduating w/ my degree in psych and minor in sociology from ODU. I can only find one Virginia school (VCU) that has an accelerated rn/msn program, but I know that I won’t get into that incredibly competitive program. What are my options? Did I goof up too badly by getting my psych degree? I don’t really want to go to a vocational school of nursing I may rather go to a college. ANY suggestion would be greatly appreciated!! THANK YOU! 🙂

Check the community colleges in your area. Maybe they offer an RN program.

Question by : How can I get into nursing school?
I’m applying to an accelerated nursing application at VCU to get a b.s.n. The application is really long and there are 2 essay portions. One is a brief summation of why you need to be a nurse. I recognise why I want to be anurse, but what do most nursing departmetns glance for in the answer/applicant?

Any information will be helpful because I am gearingmy whole life around this program! thanks.

Question by : Nursing school or the sped up Program?
So I go to VCU and the nursing school is very onerous to get into. Their different option is to get a bachelors level in another topic and then go into the sped up program. I feel like that might be a waste of time. However, could it be higher to end up with two degrees or apply to other nursing schools? And if a double major is better what would go well with nursing?

For an person to qualify for the accelerated program, you must first whole a bachelor’s level in any subject. This is even if you have not acquired an RN. most registered nurses would like to advance their skills and education with out essentially going back to school complete time prefer doing the accelerated BSN degree application as it is very convenient. those registered nurses who have bachelor degree in other fields of study are also in a position to earn a BSN degree without having to repeat all the basics typical of most degree programs.Even though an individual endeavor the BSN degree program will not necessarily have to retake most of the liberal arts requirements that you had done before when undertaking the other degree, there are still those science requirement that you will have to undertake and they include:

Anatomy
Physiology
Chemistry
Microbiology

The accelerated BSN program is very demanding and intense implying that the individual who can handle it has to be very hardworking, have self motivation and focus on the program because it need a lot of time and effort for one to successfully complete this program.
