I’m also a noobie on this soo please.. bare
EDIT:Vomit is there any way to talk to you another way? Maybe you can list my the parts of what i should get that will work for my games. Personally I just need to know the parts ! I can get the money for them though
EDIT2: filenotfound , i’m noob what can i say? well thanks for telling me what i should get since i had no idea what parts to get. and yes i live in US. Everything you have is good except the processor it should be either i3-350m or i5-430 and your Graphics card should be an ATI Raedon HD graphics card
What do you think? Answer below!
Holy piss, this build is HORRID.
First off, why in the everloving HELL are you going with a socket 775 CPU? Those are two generations old! Also, you’re spending about as much on the case as you are on the CPU and the motherboard combined. Criminy, get a cheaper case and get a better CPU! DDR2 RAM is more expensive than DDR3, so you’ll save money by getting a better CPU/mobo. Diablotek is cheap crap. DO NOT CHEAP OUT ON A POWER SUPPLY!
Get a 500w or so Antec or Corsair power supply. You could probably get a decent AM3 motherboard, a low end Phenom II x4 CPU, and a decent case (maybe an Antec 300) for about what you’re paying for the mobo/case/CPU on that build. Toss is some DDR3 1600. Video card is okay, but you can almost certainly get a GTX 460 1GB for the same price. If you can squeeze out some more budget, get an i5 2500K and a socket 1155 board. That’ll probably add a good $ 100-150 to your build cost, though. Before doing that, see if you can afford a better card. A GTX 560 or a Radeon 6870 would be pretty darned nice.
And shop through newegg.com, not Amazon. You’ll get better prices and bundles.
D Bag…yeah, great idea, go from one outdated 775 CPU to another outdated 775 CPU.
Drake, that is just retarded. The brand of video card makes no difference, only the price/performance within the price range. i3 or i5 dual cores? Get outta here. Those aren’t a very good choice compared to AMD’s offerings in that price range and are still a generation old.
I just told you some of the parts. AM3 board + Phenom II x4 CPU. If you can swing it, 1155 board and i5 2500K CPU. GO TO NEWEGG. It’s easy as hell to find what you need there and the prices are good. You will NEED to specify an upper limit on your budget, too, otherwise you could spend thousands.
October 14th, 2012 at 2:12 amok.. that video card for that psu not a chance, gtx 460 need atleast quality 450w psu and that diablotek isnt. also u need quad core prosessor so it wont bottleneck that card and u get the max benefits of that card when playing games. so hers what im thinking change that pentium to core 2 quad q8400 and get the corsair 450w psu

Anyway for US: newegg.com / tigerdirect.com
Canada: newegg.ca / tigerdirect.ca
Newegg is much better, but i have found a few sales on tiger that at the time beat newegg.
From the looks of it id say your budget is like $ 600-800 probably.
And sorry to say but all i can say is good about your build is the HDD and optical drive D:
But lets educate you some!
CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103727&cm_re=phenom_II_x4-_-19-103-727-_-Product (if you want to spend the extra money, get the core i5-2500 its like $ 200)
Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131637 (and if you went with the core i5, you need a socket 1155 motherboard, NOT 1156. I would look for asus/gigabyte). Dont get a really cheap motherboard, get one that is full atx not micro atx. micro atx is for budget computers. Also things you may want to look for is usb 3.0/sata III which are the newest interfaces.
Ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231193 (there are ones specifically made for the socket 1155 P67 motherboards from gskill, $ 2 more, id go with that if buying the core i5). If you wanted to spend a little more on ram, look for ddr3 1600 with cas latency at 7 or 8 (the lower, the faster and more expensive). you can also get 2x4gb sticks to have 8gb.
Video card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127519 (dont get the SE version, its lower then this). If you have the money, get the gtx560, its much better.
PSU: when getting one for gaming, i wouldnt skimp. get corsair/antec/seasonic/silverstone. they are the highest quality brands. Also look for 80+ certified ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=Property&Subcategory=58&Description=&Type=&N=100007657&IsNodeId=1&srchInDesc=&MinPrice=&MaxPrice=&Manufactory=1516&Manufactory=2031&Manufactory=1459&Manufactory=1697&PropertyCodeValue=4097%3A43843&PropertyCodeValue=4097%3A43844&PropertyCodeValue=4097%3A30089&PropertyCodeValue=4097%3A104100&PropertyCodeValue=4097%3A43845 ) also you can go here to get an estimate on the wattage you need: http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp
For this build id say something like: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005 for either processor set up and even with the 560, it will leave room for future upgrades.
Case: The best ones are coolmaster/antec, nzxt/thermaltake/rosewill are good too. Id go with this one for a mid tower: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119233&Tpk=haf%20912 idk why you wanted to spend $ 140 on a case lol. This one has ability to take out hdd cages and support longer video cards. also has washable air filters with good airflow.
Cooling: Always try to get a case that will support/come with atleast 1 120mm front/side/top/rear fans for optimal airflow. Cases may supports it as optional, so you may have to actually buy more fans separate. you can get led or non led, up to you. front/side=intake, rear/top=exhaust remember that. Also if you plan on overclocking look into an aftermarket cpu cooler.
If you wanted to spend more money on a mid tower case, look into the coolmaster haf X or the antec 900. both extremely good cases, just expensive.
HDD: really any 7200rpm hdd is good. seagate/western digital are good. 500gb or better is usually more then enough. You can get 2 and run in raid0 for more performance, but have risk of losing your data easier. if you get a sata III motherboard, should look into a satat III hdd. (both hdd and motherboard are backwards compatible). If you have ALOT of money look into SSD.
Optical cd drive: really doesnt matter as long as its sata. choices are dvd burner, blu ray player, and blu ray burner. so blu ray or non blu ray lol. If i had the money, i would get a blu ray burner. This will allow you to write to blank blu ray disks which hold 25gb!
OS: DONT FORGET YOUR OS! win7 OEM 64bit is $ 100 it will tack on to your total!
Others: other things like monitor/keyboard/mouse/speakers are anyther thing you need to think about. hopefully you have old ones to help save some money.
