Question by Mike S: Help with connecting bookshelf speakers to a hdtv?
Hello,
I recently bought a pair of Acoustic Audio GX-350 bookshelf speakers on the cheap and I need to know how I can connect them to my tv. On the back of each speaker is a red and black lever. What should I buy to power them (500 watts each).

To my knowledge, you cannot connect speakers directly into a television. What you need is a receiver than they hook into. The red and black levers are used for speaker cables that would go into the back of the receiver. If you are just looking for a cheap receiver check online sites like ebay.com or even amazon.

I recommend Denon, Pioneer or Onkyo when getting a receiver.

Hi, i am becoming a regular PC gamer but my computer cant just run the games right.
My specs are 8GB of ram, AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 635 Processor 2.90 GHz, 64 bit, and AMD 4200 (On-board/ Motherboard Graphics/Video.) and a 250 watt power supply
When im usually running games i average about 30 fps but it has to be with everything on LOWEST Graphics possible, Besides the source/Valve games.
My friends tell me i need a better graphics card so i am looking to buy one for under $ 100 that’s run games well on at least normal settings, If extra money is needed i can put it in
I also notice i need a better power supply about 500 watts for under $ 50 bucks help on choosing one is also appreciated.
Any other suggestions to upgrade would be appreciated

What you want to determine is the total watt-hours for each part of the problem, and choose the highest. To do this, you multiple the wattage by the number of hours. Note that for a couple of these, the time is specified in minutes, so you have to convert those to equivalent hours. (Or I guess you could convert the hours to minutes, and calculate watt-minutes, but whatever.)

It’s probably the computer, but I haven’t done the computations, so you’ll want to double-check.

i’m looking to stay under 1000 dollars for the entire desktop, meaning monitor included so 800 at most for the tower. does anyone know the cheapest place or site to visit to get the best price?. . . so far the best option i saw was this one. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=12347221 it’s got 2.7 processor speed with 6 gigs of ram and 750 gb hard drive. .. i could change out the video card but would have to buy a bigger than 300 watt power supply from what i heard. .. . and it’s only 400$ for the tower! this is all i have come up with so far.. if i get a tower somewhere else with those specs it will cost a couple hundred dollars more from what i’ve seen. any tips anyone? and the last question is if i get that coputer i showed you, where is the best site to get a bigger power supply? and how big of a power supply is neccessary? i have never ordered anything online. thanks for the help!

The extraneous information about these people has no place in an annual review. Your should focus on job performance, not hearsay and personal feelings. I would use a performance score card and base merit increases solely on objective facts.

Here’s two links to two separate amplifiers.

There’s roughly a $ 26 price difference between the two. I’m not overly concerned about the money side of it. But, is the 6000 watt worth spending the additional cash over the 5500 watt, all for just 500 watt difference? The only thing I have noticed is that on the 6000 watt amp that it appears to have more settings. Like I said previously $ $ isn’t a problem nor are the looks. I’m basically concerned about the over all performance. Any comments, suggestions and answer will be greatly appreciated! Someone who can break down all the specifics for me as well as compare them will indeed win BEST ANSWER!!!! =D

I have an xterminator 1000d mono-block amplifier 500 rms @ 1 ohm, which i blew my two 4 ohm 12″ kicker comp vrs wired at 2 ohms each sub, in about 2 or 3 months with the gains turned down low i like to set my subsonic filter down to 15 Hz. What are some good subs that will be able to handle this amp i want louder sound and more depth?

The Alpine type R is a great sub. It is rated at 500 watts rms but it can easily handle 800 watts rms. I have 500 watts going to mine and I can be heard a block away, literally. The definitley has fantastic bang for the buck. One of these subs is all I care to have.

Check ebay for a great deal on the sub.

Okay heres the deal. Found a 2003 honda civic coupe for 4 grand on craigslist. For those who DONT know thats way below book value. Even better is the fact that it’s OBO. I spoke to the guy myself. He said he has bills to pay asap and thats why he absolutely must get rid of the car. The add was from October 9th. Upon doing some research we found another add for the same exact car posted September 29th. They used the same exact pictures and it is definately the same exact car. This add was posted by a different person though. Here’s where things get tricky. This older add had a different description. It was priced for 3500 (500 cheaper) and said the car had 120K miles on it and the ac wasn’t working properly. The newer add was posted by a different guy stating the car now had 100K miles (20K less?? he also stated that on the phone when I spoke to him) AND that the AC was ICE COLD. Did he fix it that quick? He keeps reposting the add as if the car had a curse. The newest add (from today) now states the car comes with a 1000 watt amp!? Keep in mind the car in the add is the same exact car with the same exact pictures and date on the pictures. When we called the older add the guy said he sold the car. But I’m still wondering what could be the master plan here. My question is…. What could I be getting myself into? What kind of scam could this be? And why hasn’t anyone baught the car yet?!! It’s a 6-7 thousand dollar car with leather interior rims etc. I’m a huge skeptic about when things sound too good to be true… any opinions?
Guess some people dont understand craigslist… You Actually MEET UP WITH the people selling you the car and see it for yourself and test drive it. That’s where I can’t really end up with nothing and them with my money… Think people

Although it had some small dents and bumps that you couldnt see in the picture. Everything went well. Did not purchase car due to milage (128 he did lie about it in the add) But either way.
