Question by : I’m converting a freezer into a smoker and I need to wire in a thermostat to control the 1000 watt burner?
Most people tell me to go and get an old oven thermometer but those thermometers are made for 220V and of course my heating element is 110V. How do I make two compatible? Also I need a heating range from 90 deg to 200 degrees, will an oven thermostat be able to accommodate such a low temperature?

you will need a small bulb receptacle and a 110 volts low wattage bulb eg. 20watts. once you series the this between the thermometer and the filament, 110 becomes 220 and 220 becomes 110. there is also another way to do this, you can use two filament in a series that will become 220 volts. 110 +110. 90 degrees in centigrade is the minimum operating temperature for most oven thermostat.

Question by josh: need some subs for my car but not sure which to get.?
i have a 2000 explorer so firstly space isnt a big issue. i had 2 12inch rockfords 400 rms but my rockford bd1001 blew them after a long long drive, im guessing they just overheated. money isnt a huge issue but im not looking to spend too too much. i had diamond subs before and i really liked them but im not sure how well they can hold up, i dont want to have to buy new ones because they overheated and died. ive been looking around for other subs and come across a brand called massive audio. now i dont know much about them but the 12 i was looking at was 2000rms and 6000 peak. now that is a bit of overkill imo, but im sure it would handel the bd like nothing. so what would you suggest? also would it be best to go 1 12 inch? 2 12’s? assuming if i got 1 12 it could handle the 1000+ watts where if i went 2 12’s combined they would handle the power, such as something like 500-600 rms each. sorry for the long post. thanks!

Question by outlawed478: Please I need help with a good sub choice for a good price with my monoblock 500 watt rms 1000 peak amp?
I have an xterminator 1000d mono-block amplifier 500 rms @ 1 ohm, which i blew my two 4 ohm 12″ kicker comp vrs wired at 2 ohms each sub, in about 2 or 3 months with the gains turned down low i like to set my subsonic filter down to 15 Hz. What are some good subs that will be able to handle this amp i want louder sound and more depth?

The Alpine type R is a great sub. It is rated at 500 watts rms but it can easily handle 800 watts rms. I have 500 watts going to mine and I can be heard a block away, literally. The definitley has fantastic bang for the buck. One of these subs is all I care to have.

Check ebay for a great deal on the sub.

How can get rid off my apathy for everything, i am 27 and don’t give a really damn about anything, yesterday i found 50 euro on the street i wasn’t really happy, my reaction is always; “yeh well, nice”.
Or i bought something for real bargain, and my reaction was once again: “Well, nice”. I don’t like company, i don’t like loud music. A year ago i used to play music on my 1000 watt system, but now i only want to sleep. My neighbours make more noise than me, they are all over 70. I guess i need natural way to get over it. What is your suggestion?

i’ve erased all music channels from my TV like MTV and stuff…
