Question by : Is nationwide university (San Diego) a good, first rate nursing school?
I am considering starting this January 2011 at National University right here in San Diego doing my pre-requisite courses and then trying to get into the NAtional University Nursing program to get my BSN and become an RN.
I also would like to some day go to grad school to excel in my health care career.
Is NAtional University a respectable school here in San Diego?
Will I be ready to get a job right away upon graduation?

National University is one of the lowest ranked universities in the entire USA.

That could fit your 2.4 GPA, but you’re still likely to fail Nursing.

I’m thinking about applying to an speeded up bsn software. One of them is a 3 semester application and the different one is a 5 semester program. I have a few questions about it:

I may imagine it is crazy. I am going through an accelerated LPN program an it is nuts! Be prepared not to have a life.

You have to have a bachelor’s degree in another field (and from what I heard, it has to be something to do with science) to qualify to. take the accelerated program.

There is no ensure of a job, but it is likely you would get one.

Yes the licensing test is hard. It is called the NCLEX-RN. Yes, you can work out of state, but you would need to get a license for that state in order to practice.

No, the whole point of accelerated BSN programs are that the applicant has already completed a general education core in their former bachelor’s program, so they don’t have to take those courses over but only focus on prerequisite and nursing specific coursework.
