Question by aljea: What are the minimum path requirements to enter an RN software in California?
I want to become an RN, but I am not sure exactly what courses I need to take. My plan is to go to group college to do the RN pre-requisites, then go to ROP to do an LVN program, then do the final 12 months to get the RN, and then go to a university to get my BSN. The only factor is, for my first step at the community college, what are the neccessary classes in california? I already meet the math and English requirements, and I know I still need to take Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Human Development, and Public Speaking, BUT what else do I need to take???????????
hey biomike, what is your problem? I learn your questions and answers and all it seems you do is yap your trap on and on about how horrible nurses are. Without nurses, hospitals would be running. Another thing is, nursing degrees don’t take 1 year, especially if you need to be an RN. Three, I want to be a nurse because that’s what I want; I do not want to be a doctor. Fourth, nurses aren’t just for poor other folks who want to make quick money, a few people actually like that career. Any lastly, before you call someone ignorant or dumb, do your research so you don;t end up looking like the moran.

Question by : Nursing school or the sped up Program?
So I go to VCU and the nursing school is very onerous to get into. Their different option is to get a bachelors level in another topic and then go into the sped up program. I feel like that might be a waste of time. However, could it be higher to end up with two degrees or apply to other nursing schools? And if a double major is better what would go well with nursing?

I have always wanted to be a nurse…i took the nursing college classes (prerquisites) in high school since i was 16 to get closer to my dream so i am 18 applying for nursing school..

If your GPA is 2.4 or lower, you may experience difficulties getting into a nursing program. However, you definitely have options that you can take to ensure that you achieve your dream of becoming a nurse.

For example, the California State University offers an RN Advanced Placement Track program, and the GPA minimum is 2.4. Hi i am currently enrolled in a commnuty faculty working to get my Pre-nursing AA. factor is i in point of fact screwed up my first two year and only managed to get a few classes out of the way partially due to pregnancy. I withdrew from several classes and they are all permant on my transcript. I really want to be a nurse and now that over this rocky bump in my life im ready to focus on school and Get things done escpcially now that I have a baby. If I complete commnunity college, get my AA and transfer to GSU’s nursing program will they settle for me even considering my withdrawls? or should i just pick another major and move on. ATL schools don’t offer very many nursing programs. GSU was all that i may find close by =/. Im confused…..

You could most likely still get accepted…Especially if you get your Associate’s degree in nursing at a community faculty. When I graduate with my Associate’s, I’m probably going to get my BSN on-line at a college like ECU. You can nonetheless go to an online college for your BSN even if its out of state (although that would be expensive). Good luck hun!

If we fail or withdraw from one magnificence at my college, we’re automatically kicked out of nursing 🙁

BTW…did you withdraw from these classes before the withdrawal period was up? Meaning the withdraws didn’t get counted as F’s?

when they say “to provide scholarships to nursing students in exchange for a minimum 2-year full-time service commitment (or part-time equivalent), after I finish the nursing program or whatever , are they going to pay me to work or is it just required volunteer work for two years?

Typically, you will get paid to work too, but I would contact them to clarify. If you failed to meet the 2-yr service requirement though, you will receive a bill for all funding they provided to you for your education.
