While the G7 summit in Japan continued to press well-known themes, with the general consensus being that world leaders would continue pushing against competitive FX devaluations (a jab pointed once again at Japan as suggested by this weekend’s meeting of finance ministers and central bankers), Merkel adding that there is hardly any leeway left for monetary policy and Abe saving some face by adding that the G7 agreed the global economy is facing big risks, the biggest surprise out of this latest statement was Obama’s comments on Donald Trump.

In a statement to the press, Obama said that world leaders are “rattled” by Republican nominee Donald Trump’s public statements. “They are paying very close attention to this election,” the president told reporters. “I think it’s fair to say they are surprised by the Republican nominee. They are not sure how seriously to take some of his pronouncements, but they are rattled by it.”

Obama added that Republican nominee has displayed “ignorance of international affairs or a cavalier attitude or an interest in tweets and headlines rather than thinking through what is required” to keep the world safe.

On the other hand, Obama confirmed that both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders would be a continuation of the status quo by saying “both pointing in the same direction” with policy proposals. “I guarantee you that the eventual nominee sure wishes it were over now because this is a grind. It’s hard.”

And as has been repeatedly the case, in further bracketing Trump as not only an anti US establishment candidate, but one who is disliked by the entire global community, Obama likely just earned the New York billionaire some more votes; it will also provide Trump with further ammo to push his own specific policy agenda.

A Crisis Unlike We Have Seen In Human History

I sat down with John Rubino of Dollar Collapse to discuss the current state of our economic world. In a very lively conversation, we hit some of the more pressing items of the day. John has done a fantastic job of documenting the demise of the dollar since he co-authored ”The Collapse of the Dollar” with James Turk back in 2004. John’s insights and analysis are top shelf and he should be on everyone’s list of people to follow.

How many “emergency” “secret” meetings do the central planners around the world need to have before the citizens of the respective countries begin to fully understand and take notice that something is very, very wrong? This year alone there have been several off-calendar meetings with, at least, one more now added to the docket.

The G-20 central planners have scheduled an “emergency” meeting for summer 2016. What will the topics be? Could it possibly be the fact the global economy is on the verge of total collapse? With the Baltic Dry Index, Shanghai Containerized Freight Index, not to mention commodities, all spiraling out of control to the downside, do you think there may be a reason for these people to be concerned? My guess is they could care less and are simply meeting in order to determine how the remaining wealth, in their respective countries, will be divided as the global economy continues grinding to a halt.

If one simply looks at the following line-items, it is clear for anyone to see something is about to hit the fan and it’s not anything anyone wants hitting the fan.

• 45 million people in the U.S. on food stamps
• some estimates as high as 10 million refugees flooding into the European Union
• non-stop wars of aggression involving NATO, Russia, Syria and several other countries
• financial crisis that began in 2008 has not been addressed and the problems that started that year have grown larger and far deeper
• banking system in the European Union, especially Italy, is under enormous stress due to faulting/fraudulent accounting
• Federal Reserve balance sheet at $4 TRILLION – U.S. debt at $20 TRILLION and counting
• United Kingdom/Britain and the Brexit movement that is taking root
• U.S. Presidential candidates, Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders, garnering global attention as the citizens of the U.S. seek alternatives to the current embedded criminal politicians.
• Japan instituting a Negative Interest Rate Policy (NIRP) for their sovereign bonds – Japan has basically been in a recession for over 20 years
• China is manufacturer to the world and with economies slowing down or shutting down, there is no reason to manufacture products

After last summer's Jade Helm military drills, and just weeks after FEMA's mass arrest drills in Texas, it is little wonder that the residents of Beech Grove, Indiana were terrified upon being awoken last night by the sound of bombs and helicopters, and flooded the emergency 911 call network with requests for information and reports of explosions. As Sputnik News reports, police officials quickly confirmed to alarmed residents that it was a scheduled military training exercise.

While some residents reported being forewarned of the late night drill, many others were taken by surprise. Members of the community reported hearing what sounded like bombs and seeing low-flying helicopters.

As FOX59 reported, Beech Grove residents say they saw helicopters flying low over the area and heard what sounded like several loud explosions.

According to police officials, this activity was part of a scheduled military training exercise near the old St. Francis Hospital.

Police say this was training exercise was scheduled and there is no threat to anyone in the area.

Many viewers were upset about the drills, saying they didn't have any advance warning and were alarmed by the loud noises. Some people said they received a knock on the door letting them know what was going on.

“We’re sorry people were startled,” Beech Grove Police Capt. Robert Mercuri told the Indianapolis Star. “We hope they understand that the city of Beech Grove was trying to help the people who protect us everyday.”

Are these increasingly regular training sessions a harbinger of things to come?With Anti-Trump protesters being arrested en masse just today, one wonders.

For now it is unclear, however as Paul Joseph Watson notes, “police departments across the country are buying riot gear in expectation of more Ferguson-style civil unrest sweeping the country.” Maybe they know something.

Greece’s NOTAM was issued today, May 25th and the period for banning aircraft departed from Libya to overflight and land is given as May 25th – September 8, 2016.

The overlapping FIR closure period by the three countries is actually May 25 – August 8 2016.

What is interesting in the Greek NOTAM are aircraft like “military aircraft of other nations, state flights or other VIP flights, ambulance flights” are not affected by the ban. Italy records also some exceptions but not of “ambulance aircraft.”

Why do Greece, Italy and Malta need to close their airspace and territories to aircraft departing from Libya? Is there something the NATO allies have on their mind? Or the NATO itself? Something like an imminent intervention against Libya? It was beginning of April when US President Barack Obama and Secretary General Jens Stoltenrbg had declared that they could help Libya to face the Islamic Caliphate.

Weird things are happening in the Mediterranean Sea. Almost simultaneously three countries in the Mediterranean have closed their airspace and territories for aircraft departing from Libya. The exceptions are very few and involve the transport of military and evacuees. At the same time, three NATO exercises are taking place but the airspace closure and directly little to do with that.

The first country to close its airspace for aircraft departing from Libya” was Italy, followed by Malta. Today it was Greece’s turn. All three countries issued relevant NOTAMs:

Inflation is out of control. Now, we mostly agree that the Fed’s official inflation numbers are just – ridiculous. But the real inflation, is even harder to quantify, and more subtle – as we explain in Splitting Pennies – Understanding Forex. What drives inflation is NOT Adam Smith’s “Supply and Demand” – an interesting idea but completely static, and completely irrelevant for practical applications – and certainly not useful for business, or economic forcasting. Inflation is a simple function of monetary policy, multiplied by FX. That means, in today’s world, inflation must be counted including the FX markets because – no matter how much USD the Fed prints, it’s constantly being exchanged for Euros and Yen on the open FX markets. FX is a limited, finite system. But the USD itself – is not. It’s defined by other currencies, and the market value of the USD vs. others.

Other less quantitative signs of inflation:

• Reduction of quality
• Less quantity, but for the same price (less chips in the bag, every year)
• Intentional, engineered ‘appearance’ of more (there are less chips, and bag is bigger too)
• Accompanying marketing ‘feel good’ slogans

The best signs of real inflation, not the academic mumbo jumbo Fedspeak produced by The Fed and Federal Economic Departments (like BEA), is FX – and consumer goods. Because we need energy, we need food. Without food and energy, society can’t function. We can live without iphones, we can live without Tesla, we can live without many ‘industries’ – but we can’t live without food, at least based on our modern consumption system used by most human beings on this small planet Earth. And speaking of iphones, they all rely on energy – Apple (AAPL) investors should hedge their bets with energy stocks. We can expect that high-tech products have inflation, but take a look at the real inflation, the rising prices of raisins:

So what gives? Here’s the deal. Recently I learned my wife is pregnant and so we’ve changed our diet (in addition to our whole lives – that’s another topic). The definition of “extremist” is a rather ambiguous issue primarily dependent on opinion rather than fact. That is to say, it is generally the people in power and their propaganda mouthpieces that determine who is an extremist and who is not. There is no set or fair standard.

If you are a quiet and passive sort of citizen with no political deviations and no thoughts outside of what is considered “mainstream,” then you are probably considered a non-threat to the establishment. If, however, you promote an ideal that is opposed to the establishment agenda and display a potential to actually ACT to fight for that ideal, then you will eventually be labeled an extremist.

So who sets the standard for extremism in America today? The responsibility of enforcement has been undertaken by the Department of Homeland Security. But, the initial profiling of extremism and the engineering behind the farcical talking points that the DHS often uses and spreads to local law enforcement agencies is the work of the Southern Poverty Law Center.

The SPLC’s profiling guidelines on extremism and terrorism tend to end up in DHS and fusion center reports that are usually not meant for the eyes of the public. A more well-known example would be the exposure of the Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC) Report back in 2009 which listed Ron Paul supporters as being potential terrorists. The SPLC complained widely that the MIAC report should not have been abandoned after the uproar from conservatives, but instead, should have been pursued.

The SPLC lists “active anti-government groups” on their website with a nicely made but meaningless graph which would have you believe that such groups have exploded in number since 2008. How the SPLC designates groups as “anti-government” is entirely dependent on their own baseless opinions rather than any discernible or practical method. They could easily make their graph say anything they want it to say and pretend there is some kind of science to it.

Hilariously, the SPLC lists my own website, Alt-Market, as an “anti-government group” under Pennsylvania, the state I lived in when Alt-Market was first established. Apparently, they consider a website a “group,” and I suppose I should be flattered that my individual efforts have been effective enough to constitute a group-sized threat in their minds.

I am also not “anti-government.” I am anti-corrupt government, but the SPLC does not seem to care at all about this kind of distinction.

I can say that Alt-Market is certainly not a group. While I do promote the formation of private barter groups as well as mutual aid and community security groups, these groups are in no way under the control of Alt-Market. If the SPLC considers me, all by my lonesome, as an anti-government group, then I question the validity of their list. If they had some confusion as to what Alt-Market was, all they had to do was ask me, but they never have.

The art of brevity was not lost on Abraham Lincoln. The nation’s 16^th President humbly predicted that the world would quickly forget his words of that November day in 1863. Of course, Lincoln was both right and wrong. Neither the men who sacrificed their lives nor his words would be forgotten. We remember and know that a terrible and ever mounting price would ultimately be paid, some 623,026 American lives, the steepest in man’s bloody history.

In what can only be described as the pinnacle of prescience, a 28-year old Lincoln foretold of the coming Civil War, which he presaged would come to pass if the scourge of slavery remained unchecked. In an address to the Young Men’s Lyceum of Springfield, Illinois in January 1838, Lincoln spoke these haunting words: “If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher.” The enemy within.

Since that devastating brother against brother Civil War, so prophetically foreseen by Lincoln, more than 626,000 American soldiers have lost their lives defending the ideals and freedom of our Union. Today that Union stands, but it must now face the threat of an enemy rising within its borders to wage a different kind of war against our hard fought freedom.

To be precise, today’s dangers emanate from our nation’s boardrooms, where officers and executives have authorized an era of reckless abandon in the form of share buybacks. In the event the word ‘hyperbolic’ just came to mind, the ramifications of a lost generation of investment in Corporate America should not be lightly dismissed. This trend, above all others, has weakened the foundation of U.S. long term economic growth.

The real question is whether those who have facilitated the malfeasance will be held accountable. Before the launch of the second iteration of quantitative easing (QE2) that the Fed voted to implement on November 3, 2010, Richard Fisher, to whom yours truly once answered, raised serious concerns. An October 7, 2010 speech before the Economic Club of Minneapolis was the venue.

The contextual backdrop is key: Just weeks before at Jackson Hole, Ben Bernanke had unleashed the mother of all stock market rallies by hinting that QE2 was indeed coming down the FOMC pipeline. The hawks were understandably hopping mad as the debate on the inside was anything but settled. Fisher indicated as much, albeit with notoriously diplomatic panache:

It was only a matter of time before our deeply divided nation was going to start coming apart at the seams.  Waves of anger, frustration, violence and civil unrest are starting to sweep across the United States, and political rallies for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump have become a focal point for releasing some of that energy.  The angry mob that threw rocks, bottles and burning T-shirts at police and Donald Trump supporters on Tuesday night wanted to get the attention of the national media, and they got it in droves.  Now that the election is less than five months away, this kind of scene is going to be repeated over and over, and this is something that I warned about back in March.  Millions upon millions of our young people have fully embraced the radical left, and they have already made it exceedingly clear that they are not afraid to use violence to advance their cause.

Never before in my lifetime have I seen America so divided.  Our politicians and the mainstream media have been endlessly pitting various groups against one another for years, and wherever you look hearts are growing very cold.

I have said it before, and I will say it again.  I believe that this is going to be the most chaotic election season that we have ever experienced, and the chaos and violence that are going to be unleashed over the next five months are going to shock the entire world.

On Tuesday night, the angry mob that gathered outside of the Albuquerque Convention Center didn’t seem to care who they hurt as they unleashed their anger.  According to Fox News, some of the protesters even tried to set police horses on fire…

The rampaging gang was made up of anti-Trump goons — waving the Mexican flag and burning a Trump banner.

“Viva Mexico,” protesters shouted, according to the Albuquerque Journal.

The rioters even targeted police horses — knocking one down – and throwing burning T-shirts at others. Who tries to burn down a horse?

How sick and twisted do you have to be to try to set a horse on fire?

But this is what happens when a spirit of violence descends on a group of people.  The consequences can quickly spiral out of control in unexpected ways.

In one of the presidential campaign year’s more grisly spectacles, protesters in New Mexico opposing Donald Trump’s candidacy threw burning T-shirts, plastic bottles and other items at police officers, injuring several, and toppled trash cans and barricades.

Police responded by firing pepper spray and smoke grenades into the crowd outside the Albuquerque Convention Center.

According to at least one report, rocks thrown by some of the rioters were actually flying through the convention center windows, and a number of innocent people got hurt.
