I live in an apartment that has a small South facing porch, in Southern California. I’d like to use solar to decrease my monthly electric bill. Without buying a rooftop system (it’s not my roof, it must be portable), what can I get to plug into my existing sockets, to decrease my monthly electricity bill? Most people tell me to go and get an old oven thermometer but those thermometers are made for 220V and of course my heating element is 110V. How do I make two compatible? Also I need a heating range from 90 deg to 200 degrees, will an oven thermostat be able to accommodate such a low temperature?

Answer by frederickdeguzman_1972 you will need a small bulb receptacle and a 110 volts low wattage bulb eg. 20watts. once you series the this between the thermometer and the filament, 110 becomes 220 and 220 becomes 110. there is also another way to do this, you can use two filament in a series that will become 220 volts. 110 +110. 90 degrees in centigrade is the minimum operating temperature for most oven thermostat.

So I recently blew my 20-watt fuse in my 1000-watt amp connected to 2 12″ subwoofers. Thinking it would be an easy fix I went to radioshack and got some more fuses. But now everytime I try putting the fuse in it blows everytime I re-connect power to my amp. How to I do it to make it so it doesn’t blow everytime?

Answer by PimpMyRide I’d suspect that the amp has an internal short that is blowing the fuse.
Either take it to a local car audio shop or electronics repair facility that does component level repairs, or put the amp information in here and get a repair quote:

If the repair will cost more than about 1/2 the cost of a new amp, you may be better off just replacing the amp.

I am close to graduating w/ my degree in psych and minor in sociology from ODU. I can only find one Virginia school (VCU) that has an accelerated rn/msn program, but I know that I won’t get into that incredibly competitive program. What are my options? Did I goof up too badly by getting my psych degree? I don’t really want to go to a vocational school of nursing I may rather go to a college. ANY suggestion would be greatly appreciated!! Hi, I’m going to be a freshman at CSULA for pre-nursing and I wanted to know if it was possible to switch from a cal state into a UC school (for nursing) in my junior year or any different university (out-of-state). I visited the UCLA transfer page but it seems that they only settle for transfers from community colleges and other UCs. Please help!

Answer by lildude211us it is possible, but its highly unlikely. Most 4 year universities accept little transfers from other 4 year universities and i think its because those students dont have to transfer in order to get a bachelors degree.
You should still give it a try, since UCLA has a very good undergrad nursing program, but just dont get your hopes up. The odds arent in your favor.
