I have a Xtreme 1500x 500 watt mono block amplifier, and am trying to figure out exactly what type of subwoofer i need, because there is so much mumbo jumbo i dont understand and am just getting more confused.

Answer by Tommy subs are rated by max witch dont really mean anything,you usuall go by the rms thats like countious power,,so a good begener sub is like kicker comps almost any lil amp will bang those,not the bigger rms kickers youll need a ton of money
I started off with a 12″ sony xplod speaker and a 450 watt amp, then I upgraded to a 1000 watt amp, now my sound system is done with 2 speakers and my 1000 watt amp, I also replaced all my othe speakers. “If My car can’t look good, then it’ll sound amazing” 😛

Kenwood deck, Soundigital Nano-250 watt amps (one on woofers, one on mids/highs), Rockford Fosgate Pro Audio speakers, Rockford Fosgate 8″ subwoofer and of course, an SMD VU-Din. This thing actually sounds pretty damn good! Too bad it will be a rotten mess before anyone besides a few people gets to hear it.
