If you buy a cheap 1000 w they are probably referring to the max peak power of the amp, when in fact the rms value (the real one) is about 80 w rms. That’s the same with the more expensive ones, but a brand like Rockford, if they said they have 1000 w rms, you will probably have more than 1000 w. when buying an amp always refer to the rms value of power, that the power rated at a constant rate, the peak power is the maximum power it can reach in an instantaneous time.

pyle is exactly what it says…. a pyle of sh**
The answer is no… because a “cheap” 1000 watt amp probably isn’t going to put out 1000 watts. The rockford will work better for you than the pyle… but there are other cheaper brands that are much better than pyle.
If you want cheaper then you should look into companies like…
HiFonics
Power Acoustik
MA Audio (HK line)
All do put out almost rated power… and are generally a good amp
And on eBay you can still find older Kicker KX1200.1 (very good amp) for under $ 300
Good Luck

October 1st, 2012 at 2:24 pma watt is a way of measuring energy. A thousand watt amp from brand a may be more power than a thousand watt amp from brand b. not to mention just like with cars (and every thing else) there are quality issues to look at, better grade devices inside (resistors, mosfets, coils, etc. etc.) will cause better performance in an amplifier, such as more control, less distortion, more usable power, so on and so on. you definitely get what you pay for. One thing to look for when purchasing an amp is to see if its cea2006 regulated. then you will know without a doubt what you the consumer can expect from your amp.
no it wont sound the same at all most 1000 watt cheap brand amps the RMS is only like 300 watts and even when u dont have it turned up that much it still will sound like shit ur best off getting brands like
rockford

if it puts out 1000watts rms there will be no difference in sound quality .
October 1st, 2012 at 4:17 pmOne way to tellthe difference is if the amp you but is CEA-2006 compliant.

October 1st, 2012 at 5:05 pmIf its a good cheap amp then yes it will sound almost the same…But will harm your subs cause most cheap amp sends out to much harmonic distortion…so in the long run you can say bye bye to your subs if using the cheap amp..
October 1st, 2012 at 5:39 pmNo with the pyle you will only be getting about 1/4 of that power ,the fosgate it will run harder ,cooler, and longer. If I were you I would look into hifonics or audiopipe just to name a couple.
