Philippine nursing schools provide essentially the same Nursing curriculum as California nursing schools do.
They are so much similar that in fact the NCLEX (US Nursing licensure examinations) can already be taken here in the Philippines – and many of them do pass.
The entire Nursing School curriculum in the Philippines consists of four years which culminates in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. You will also need to take the NLE which will license you as a nurse in the Philippines – as well as in the rest of Southeast Asia because of ASEAN joint-professional regulations.
May 8th, 2012 at 12:32 pmI worked with a lot of Philippine nurses in the US. I never had a problem with the RN’s as far skills and knowledge was concerned. If any thing they were too take charge and very pushy.
May 8th, 2012 at 12:55 pmThe LVN’s were poorly trained in the Meds. They caught on fast enough to a new banquet to serve but I did see some serious mistakes.
Training in the US does not bring you close to the newest drugs as they seem to come from Europe after 7 years testing. But you will learn the common pharmacopoeia. You come into contact with highly skilled trainers and work with some of the worlds best technology and Doctors.
There are a lot of doors open to the RN in America. Lots of different job offers in different fields than hospital care too.
