Question by Luv2no is in the house: Should I put the baby monitor in the dogs room at night in their new room in case they start barking?
I’m afraid they’re going to get lonely not sleeping with me at night. I got the baby monitor at a garage sale.

no that is ridiculous. don’t lose a good nights sleep for a dog. if you are that concerned with it put the dog in bed with you.

Wait. The dogs have their own bedroom? And a baby monitor?
No, don’t use the monitor – you need your sleep. How about hiring an overnight nanny?
November 23rd, 2012 at 3:15 amYou can, but going to comfort them each time they bark will only nurture the habit. The baby monitor isn’t a bad idea, but letting them sleep through the night with a bit of whimpering or barking will teach them that you won’t come to them when it’s night (something that will save you many sleepless nights in the future). š
November 23rd, 2012 at 3:42 amno it will only teach them to bark to get a responce i know it can be hard but its best to let them settle on there own
November 23rd, 2012 at 4:05 amDefinitely not. If they bark and you don’t come to their bedside, they’ll stop. The baby monitor will only reinforce the barking.
November 23rd, 2012 at 4:08 amJust put a few ‘Babies’ in the room; that should keep them settled…!!
November 23rd, 2012 at 4:09 amYou could do that. Only don’t go running if you hear them crying or they’ll never get used to sleeping without you. LOL
