Question by SugNspice_1: How do I get started a nursing school of my own.?
I need to start a Lpn school in dallas texas. There are only two right here and I really wanted to change into a nurse until I went to a nursing school. I felt like the envirnment was so negative and I want to open a school that will encourage other folks to become nurses.

To open a school for nursing or any career requires an administration and staff of at least a dozen or more people who are highly educated and experienced in the selected profession and allied profession. After that you will spend several years laying out your curriculum and facilities, then submitting your plans to the state board of “Whatever”, and waiting for a favorable review that releases you to start spending the first of millions of dollars just to survive the first year.

If you can’t stand the pain of educating yourself to become a nurse, why do you assume anyone might let you open a facility to teach nursing? What would be your qualifications?

I have a science gpa of 3.68 (anatomy, physiology, cell bio, and microbio)

I have an overall gpa of 3.5….

I have always wanted to be a nurse…i took the nursing faculty classes (prerquisites) in top school since i was 16 to get closer to my dream so i am 18 applying for nursing school..

Texas Woman’s has one of the largest in Texas. It is in Denton and Houston. I’m not positive were the nursing is located. I think they have a excellent reputation. The Health science center in San Antonio also has a good program. It might be a upper disivsion only school however. I’m not sure. Those are the two programs I would check out.

The student – faculty ratio is approximately 8:1, which is outstanding and you will definitely get to know your professors and not be shunted off to some mega-classes taught, usually badly, by TAs.
