With your GPA and SAT score you will have no problem getting into SDSU; however, you won’t be able to apply to the nursing program right out of high school as a result of you must whole several perquisite lessons first. The perquisite classes takes about 1.5 to 2 years to complete general. You in reality want to make sure you get really good grades in your perquisite courses (I’m talking A’s and high B’s) because the GPA from those courses will be part of the application procedure into the nursing program.
The nursing techniques in all California State colleges are impacted and have an moderate of 1000-1800 applicants and only 120-180 spots to fill for the year. So as you can imagine it is extremely competitive. SDSU application process for the nursing program works off a point system (as do majority of CSU’s) You get points for Overall GPA, Perquisite GPA (anatomy, physiology chem… ETC.) , TEAS Score (entrance examination for nursing school) paintings experience, and volunteer experience.
To better you chance I would start volunteering at your local hospital if you haven’t already. Really have a look at hard and do good in you perquisite courses and study hard for your TEAS examination.
I had a 4.0 in my perquisite courses, 3.76 total GPA, and a 94 score on my TEAS and I got into all the nursing programs I applied for (including SDSU) except SJSU. However, I choose to attend nursing school out of state (GSU in GA). I graduate nursing school this may and it has literally been one of the very best decisions I have ever made. Work hard and you’ll do fine. GOOD LUCK!
